The ElkBros "GRINDER" was designed specifically for the demands of our crew to be that workhorse diaphragm call, allowing us to cast out bugles and bull vocalizations as real as they get. After a short break in period of 15 or so bugles, you will get sweet cow and calf sounds without having to switch from reed to reed. Y'all, we wanted a diaphragm that does it all and doesn't give out in a day of cranking out calls!
The thicker latex and specialized stretch blueprint was developed to give the reed a longer call life while allowing it to break into a sweet spot after 15 plus hard bugles. The more you call, the better it gets!
Unique to the GRINDER are the notched "cut-outs" designed by World Championship caller and call manufacturer Travis O’Shea which allow all sides of the tape to position themselves comfortably in the roof of the mouth reducing our natural gag tendencies and creating a solid seal. That seal is the key to producing the most consistent air flow over the latex for sweet sounding tones.
